The other week mum was very upset because her legs weren’t working too well and so she decided to take a taxi home from the shops. She managed to find a taxi but then couldn’t remember her address or where she had put the piece of paper she carries with her address on. What she was really upset about was the taxi drivers attitude towards her.
I don’t expect for one moment the taxi driver was a ‘bad man’, I feel sure it was more ignorance of dementia on his part. Hopefully this campaign, Dementia Friends, will help educate people as to how they can help when faced with, what may seem the strange behaviour of a dementia sufferer.
And what a great idea this is, an old Beatles song sung by a Dementia sufferer, her friends and some of the celebrities backing the campaign. Please share and get the word out there. Thanks so much!
